Hi, I'm Kalie.  I live in Lynnwood, WA (Seattle area) and moved here 8 years ago. I love it here and am head over heels for all that the PNW has to offer. (New England also calls to me often!) I consider myself an introverted people person, so putting myself out here like this is a little scary! I have had a camera in my hand for as long as I can remember and often bring it along wherever I go. I have a pretty awesome guy by my side who inspires me to be even more creative than I could imagine and together we are attempting to raise a three year old little man in a very big world. I say attempt because parenting is way harder once you have a kid! When we had our son, I realized all I want is for him to love what he does, but I wasn't doing that. And so Filling The Frame Photography was born.

There are three parts to this "job" that I absolutely love. First, I love being behind the camera (I am just as awkward as the next person in front of it!). To play and manipulate the moment is such a special feeling. I love photographing people with their people. Being a fly on the wall and catching a moment that was special and shared between two people is so special. My husband says I get high off my sessions. I come home describing the light and the moments and the "Wait until you see what I got!"s. Maybe it's the adult interaction and conversation since it's usually me and my little man all day, but I think it's all the smiling and love I get to experience.

The second part of the"job" that I love is the editing. I know, it sounds like work, but I love taking an image and manipulating it ever so slightly to enhance the magic, the mood, the lighting, the moment. This is when I like to be alone. To feel the magic. I take 100 images and find the best ones and present those as your memories. It's a big, important step and I do not take it lightly!

The third part is after I hit send. I work hard throughout the session to guide and capture moments, to edit the images and stare at them over and over, to send them off and wait. Luckily, it doesn't take long to hear a response. Thank goodness! I am not very good at waiting! I love seeing which ones will become your favorites, and which ones your friends comment on. I love this part because it means I did what I was trying to do. I wanted to capture you, right now, with the people that you love and the ones who make you smile the most.

That's me. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be living this life with the people that I love. I want to meet you and your people and capture what inspires you to smile. Let's create beautiful images together that will last a lifetime.

 Magic Hour

Portrait sessions can be completely customizable! Anything from a styled creative shoot at a waterfall to an engagement session at a beach to a senior shoot at a park.  Most sessions are 30-60 minutes long and include 15 beautifully, edited digital images. Let's go get lost somewhere and create some magic!

 starting at $250

Family sessions (or group sessions) are for the people that want to embrace the memory making! Let's freeze this moment, where you are in your life right now, and preserve it forever. I want to capture moments that your grandkids will look at 50 years from now and love. As with most of my sessions, I will "pose" you in the 'right' lighting and then guide you to interact with each other in ways that everyone will enjoy-- giving you memories and photographs we all will cherish.  This session covers 3-10 people, generally takes 60 minutes, and in the end you will have 20 edited images, delivered digitally for easy download, printing and sharing on social media.

starting at $325

Oh, weddings!! How you make my heart sing. You are exhaustingly beautiful. :) Even if we haven't met before I can guarantee I will tear up at your wedding. How can anyone stay dry-eyed at a wedding?! I offer a few packages letting you decide between all day and partial day coverage, a second photographer, digital images and prints. I strive to not only capture your day but do everything I can to enhance it. Let me capture everything from the details, to the kiss, to the precious moments you missed trying to do it all on your big day. I absolutely love weddings and am so thankful when I get to be apart of it.

This concept came to me the Christmas after my brother passed away. My Mom asked for family pictures to send out for the Holidays. This really struck  me. How could we send out cards without my brother in them? And so Angel Pictures were created. I really love doing these as I know how much the pictures meant to us, on that first Christmas without my brother.

(There are a couple different ways to do this. We need a high-resolution image to be used as the main picture. I am happy to combine two images for you, but ideally this is added on to a session so I am able to capture the main image myself. )  Starting at $50.
